Dedication to Christopher from his cousin Jr.



Christopher LaVell Jones was born on August 25, 1993
 to his proud parents Brenda Grisham and Rev. LaVell W. Jones in Oakland, California.
Christopher is the brother of Deshonda Gipson and Janiesha Grisham of Oakland. Christopher also has a brother Brandon Jones and sister Jayla Jones both of Stockton, CA. He is the granson of Bonnie Thomas of Texas, Mr. & Mrs. Moore Jones Sr. of Oakland, CA. He is the nephew of Mr. Byron Dugger of Texas, Evangelist B.J Ison of Oakland, Comedian Mo Jones of Anitioch, Deshay Jones of Oakland and Vela Jones of San Francisco , CA. Christopher was the uncle of one niece Laini Gant of Oakland. Christopher has a host of cousins, god parents, and other relative who loved him dearly and will miss him.

Christopher received christ at an early age a was baptized at the 7th Avenue Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.T Johnson and was a member for all of his 17 years. Christopher played for the choirs of 7th Ave as well as sang in the choirs. Christopher served as the Music director for The Xperience Ministries Inc. and was the head musician for the Nothing But PraZe Workshop choir. Christopher composed and recorded music for all six songs recorded on the Nothing But PraZe CD entitled " The Anointing" in 2010. Christopher received his education in, Oakland,Sacramento and Fremont, California, Christopher was quiet child but he has alway loved music he began playing the drums at the age of three years old and began playing the keyboard and organ at 14. He attended American High School where he was a member of the award winning concert band under the direction of Mr. Wong.
 
Christopher attended East Oakland School of the Arts where he was a exceptional student in music and a vivid advocate of education. Christopher had a smile and a handshake for anyone in his path. Christopher loved basketball and football and shared his talents with the neighborhood children.  

Before Christopher's untimely death on December 31, 2010 he was scheduled to start Laney College to begin his course of study in music.

Christopher had also applied to Cal State East Bay for the fall semester where he was to major in music with a minor in digital arts.

A Scholarship will be given to East Oakland School of the Arts in the name of Christopher beginging with his graduation year 2011. Christopher was the last homicide for 2010 in Oakland, CA.
